About the role

We are seeking a driven and experienced Quantity Engineer to join our dynamic team at China Communications Construction Company (M) Sdn Bhd' in Kuching, Sarawak. As a Quantity Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing the technical and commercial aspects of our civil and structural engineering projects. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work on exciting large-scale developments and contribute to the growth of our company.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare and analyse detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for various project stages
  • Review and validate project drawings, specifications, and other technical documents
  • Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and timely delivery of quantities and cost information
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents, bids, and contract negotiations
  • Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring cost-effective and efficient utilisation of resources
  • Identify and resolve any quantity-related issues or discrepancies that arise during project execution
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the wider project team, as required

What we're looking for

  • Proficient in Mandarin and capable of fluent Mandarin communication in work
  • Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field
  • Experience as a Quantity Engineer or in a similar role within the construction industry
  • Proficient in using quantity surveying software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and industry standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word
