Sports Attendant

ensures the safe and smooth operation of sporting facilities and events, provides customer service, manages equipment, and handles general administrative tasks.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Greeting and assisting Members and visitors, answering queries, and providing information on facilities equipments, booking availability, and membership options.
- Facility Management: Preparing facilities for competition and training, ensuring all areas are hazard-free, clean, and well-maintained (including changing rooms and toilets).
- Equipment Management: Issuing, monitoring the use of, maintaining, and repairing sports equipment as necessary. This also includes conducting regular safety checks for wear or damage.
- Safety and Supervision: Supervising participants during activities to ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment. This involves enforcing safety rules and regulations and administering basic first aid when required.
- Event Support: Assisting with the organization and logistical arrangements for sports events, tournaments, camps, and inter-school competitions, which may include setting up and taking down equipment.
- Administration: Carrying out administrative duties such as managing bookings, collecting fees/tickets, maintaining accurate attendance registers, recording accidents/incidents, and preparing reports.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patrons, employees, and supervisors.
- Reliability: A sense of responsibility, punctuality, and a good attendance record.
- Flexibility: A willingness to work varied hours, which often include afternoons, evenings, and weekends, as sporting events usually occur outside of standard business hours.
- Problem-Solving: The ability to handle conflicts and make critical decisions in a timely manner.
- Physical Fitness: The role may require physical activity and the ability to tolerate frequent temperature variations.
- Qualifications: A first-aid qualification is often desirable, and relevant experience in a sports or recreational setting is preferred
