The NCT Technician is responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining Numerical Control Technology (NCT/CNC) machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The role ensures efficient machine operation, product accuracy, and adherence to safety requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesMachine Operation & Setup

  • Operate NCT / CNC machines (e.g. turret punch, CNC punching, laser, or machining centers).
  • Perform machine setup, tooling selection, and parameter adjustment.
  • Load programs, verify coordinates, and conduct test runs before production.
  • Monitor machine performance during operation to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Production & Quality Control

  • Produce parts according to drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Inspect finished parts using measuring tools (vernier caliper, micrometer, gauges).
  • Identify defects, deviations, or machine issues and take corrective actions.
  • Record production data, scrap, and downtime accurately.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Perform basic preventive maintenance and machine cleaning.
  • Troubleshoot minor machine, tooling, or program issues.
  • Report major breakdowns or abnormalities to supervisors or maintenance team.
  • Assist during machine servicing and calibration.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and SOPs.
  • Ensure machine guards and safety devices are properly used.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S).

Job RequirementsEducation & Experience

  • Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or CNC/NCT Technology.
  • Fresh graduates welcome; 1–3 years experience is an advantage.
  • Experience in sheet-metal, precision machining, or manufacturing environment preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Basic knowledge of CNC/NCT programming and machine operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Familiar with measurement tools and quality inspection methods.
  • Basic troubleshooting and mechanical understanding.

Soft Skills

  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to work independently and in a team.
  • Willing to work shifts and overtime if required.
  • Responsible, disciplined, and safety-conscious.
