TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES -

● Research, and write news stories.

● Conduct interviews and gather information from reliable sources to ensure accuracy in

reporting.

● Stay up-to-date with current events, trends, and breaking news, both locally and

globally.

● Write in-depth, informative, and engaging articles that appeal to the target audience.

● Use social media platforms to promote stories and engage with readers.

● Work closely with editors, photographers, and other journalists to create high-quality

content.

● Attend events and press conferences to report on breaking news.

● Develop and maintain a network of reliable sources for ongoing stories.

● Adhere to journalistic ethics and standards.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATOR (KPI) -

● Demonstrated abilities to produce quality stories:

• Accurate and factual information

• Fair and just

• Relevant to Malaysiakini

● Demonstrated abilities to seek and produce multiple stories in a given working day -

minimum of 3 stories per day

● Demonstrated abilities to produce stories in a timely manner - breaking stories are

published first by Malaysiakini

● Continuously maintained annual attendance record within a healthy level

● Demonstrated high level of compliance towards company policies and procedures

● Demonstrated ability to gather and maintain contacts/sources of stories

● Demonstrated ability to handle analytical aspects - excellent in summarizing

technicalities of a story/information after an assignment
