Associate Plant Operations Training Specialist

Position Overview:
Associate Plant Training Operations Specialist will be a critical contributor in a mission that truly represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join a company that is making significant investments in establishing manufacturing, expanding internationally, and delivering a consistent cadence of product innovations to the market and investing in its people.
The successful candidate will support the training and development of manufacturing team members to ensure consistent, high-quality production of our signature products. This role focuses on delivering hands-on training, maintaining up-to-date procedures, and supporting continuous improvement in employee performance and operational standards. This individual must possess a willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct training sessions for manufacturing employees, focusing on current procedures, addressing operational gaps, and supporting process improvements.
- Maintain accurate and well-organized training records, tracking employee progress and completion status.
- Train newly assigned employees to ensure full understanding and compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Assist in updating training materials to reflect solutions for mechanical issues, safety concerns, and operational inefficiencies.
- Deliver training on revised procedures and support smooth implementation across teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to enhance training effectiveness and consistency.
- Adhere to all SOPs related to material handling, documentation, packaging, and shipment preparation, in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Promptly report any discrepancies or concerns to the Line Manager or Production Manager to maintain high training standards and operational safety.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Participate in small groups and cross-functional team initiatives to improve training outcomes.
- Support onboarding and orientation programs for new hires in manufacturing roles.
- Develop and maintain the Transcript Development Program for Job Grades 2 and 3.
- Ensure timely completion of operator training and monitor ongoing employee development.
- Organize and support company or departmental events, including team lunches, dinners, and teambuilding activities.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the superior.
Education and Experience:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in Medical Device manufacturing or cGMP regulated industry.
- Ability to present training course material to individuals and groups and to effectively facilitate their learning process
- Ability to make decisions and work with minimal to moderate supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Strong planning, organization, and multitasking skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Previous experience working in a clean room environment.
- Familiarity with manufacturing instrumentation such as optical gauging, video microscopes, micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, dial indicators, and gauge blocks.
- Mechanical Aptitude – Knowledge of and experience with automated machines and tools, including design, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Production & Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, measurement instruments, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for the manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Problem Solving – Recognizes problems and understands root cause analysis techniques/concepts.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
Physical Requirements (if applicable):
- Required to stand for at least 75% of working time per shift, with walking at least 50% of working time per shift.
- Requires sitting for extended periods while working on a computer.
