About the role

This is a full-time role with MILDEF INTERNATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES SDN BHD' based in Bandar Sri Sendayan, Negeri Sembilan. As the Executive Purchasing - Overseas, you will be responsible for the procurement of materials and services from international suppliers to support the company's manufacturing operations.

What you'll be doing

  1. Develop and maintain relationships with overseas suppliers to secure competitive pricing and delivery terms
  2. Negotiate and manage contracts with international vendors to ensure quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met
  3. Coordinate the import and customs clearance process for purchased materials and equipment
  4. Monitor and analyse supplier performance, identifying opportunities for improvement
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute procurement strategies
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in international purchasing

What we're looking for

  1. At least 3 years of experience in a purchasing or sourcing role, preferably in the manufacturing, transport, or logistics industry
  2. Strong negotiation and contract management skills with international suppliers
  3. Familiarity with import/export and customs clearance processes
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  5. Proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving to optimise procurement processes
  6. Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
