Key Responsibilities:

Monitor Eye Health: Regularly monitor patients' vision and eye health, including checking for signs of serious conditions like diabetic retinopathy.
Patient Education: Educate patients about eye care practices, proper use of contact lenses, and preventive measures to maintain eye health.
Provide Post-Surgical Care: Offer post-operative care for patients who have undergone eye surgery, ensuring proper healing and vision correction.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including eye test results, prescriptions, and treatment plans.
Collaborate with Healthcare Providers: Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists and primary care providers, when necessary.
Manage Office Operations: In some settings, optometrists may oversee office staff, manage appointments, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education: Degree in Optometry
Licensure: Possess a registered license for optometry
Clinical Skills: Ability to perform various eye tests, diagnose and treat eye conditions, and interpret test results accurately.
Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex medical information to patients in a clear and understandable manner.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail when performing eye exams and reviewing test results.
Customer Service Skills: Provide excellent care by creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for patients.
