The
Senior Business Controller
provides leadership and coordination in overall strategic financial management to ensure business continuity, operational efficiency, and growth. This role covers business control, financial planning, budgeting, and performance management, and will lead a finance team across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise in delivering sound financial and business solutions to support both tactical and strategic decisions.
  • Partner closely with senior management and operations teams to drive business and financial performance.
  • Identify, implement, and support continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing and supply chain operations.
  • Lead the budgeting process, management reviews, and performance monitoring.
  • Evaluate CAPEX projects, monitor returns, and ensure alignment with business priorities.
  • Coordinate long-term strategic planning and optimize resource allocation for the Business Unit.
  • Oversee financial operations, internal controls, and compliance across multiple sites.
  • Analyze and report on financial and business performance, projections, and other ad-hoc projects.
  • Prepare robust short- and long-term financial forecasts.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain accounting, reporting, and administrative policies.
  • Build, develop, and strengthen the finance team, ensuring strong business partnering capabilities.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Mathematics from a reputable university. Professional qualifications (CPA/CA/ACCA) or a Master's degree are preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years' strategic financial management experience in a corporate/MNC environment with significant manufacturing/operational exposure.
  • Strong preference for candidates from soft commodities (palm, agriculture, grain, oilseeds, edible oils, or related industries).
  • Proven leadership qualities with experience managing regional/multi-site finance teams.
  • Strong commercial orientation, hands-on approach, and ability to operate close to the business.
  • Operationally attuned, with a keen analytical eye and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance cost discipline with value creation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; fluency in English is essential, with Bahasa/Mandarin a plus for liaising with overseas operations.
  • Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time across the region.
