About the role
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager, Accounts to join our team at Mewah Group' in our Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia office. This is a full-time position that will see you playing a key role in our financial accounting and reporting function.
What you'll be doing
- Manage accounts for assigned entities.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS)
- Perform inter-company reconciliations, if required
- Liaise with the Singapore Accounts team to ensure accurate and timely offshore processing of reporting tasks.
- Support audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules and liaison with external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with group policies, internal controls, and statutory requirements.
- Identify process improvements and participate in standardization/automation initiatives across the Shared Services.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, if applicable
- Ensure timely month-end closing and support year-end audits
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA)
- Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience, including experience in audit (preferably Big 4 or mid-tier firms)
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and full set accounting
- Experience working in a shared services or MNC environment is a plus
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Navision, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel/ Word/Power Point.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and communication skills
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
