The Assistant Manager – Quantity Surveying is responsible for preparing tender documents, evaluating tenders and making recommendations and prepare report for internal approval. Post contract works comprising of handling variation orders and final account. To provides guidance to junior team members and contributes to continuous improvement in cost management practices.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Tendering & Procurement

  2. Prepare tender documents, pricing schedules, and cost breakdowns

  3. Review contractor/supplier rate / quotations

  4. Assist in evaluating tenders and making recommendations

  5. Contract Administration

  6. Support the Manager in preparing, reviewing, and managing contracts

  7. Handle variation orders, change requests, and final account

  8. Ensure compliance with contractual terms and project specification

  9. Support Cost Management

  10. Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies

  11. Review and update Bills of Quantities (BOQ)

  12. Monitor project expenditures and compare against budgets

  13. Reporting & Documentation

  14. Support the preparation of final accounts at project close-out

  15. Prepare the internal memo / report for top management approval etc
  16. Maintain well-organized filing of QS documentation for audit trails

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
  • Min 5 years of QS experience (preferable for QS consulting firm)
  • Experience in construction, building, or civil projects.
  • Familiar with the standard form, i.e PAM, IEM, etc

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of measurement, cost control, and standard forms of contract
  • Proficiency in QS software (e.g., Niuace, AutoCAD for measurement)
  • Strong Excel and report-writing skills
