Job Summary:

The Resident Engineer is responsible for leading and supervising all on-site construction and engineering activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and project timelines. The role involves managing project execution, coordinating with consultants, contractors, and clients, and providing technical oversight to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all construction activities at site to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Act as the main point of contact between consultants, contractors, and the client for technical and site matters.
• Supervise site engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors to ensure work quality and progress.
• Review and verify design drawings, shop drawings, and method statements for accuracy and constructability.
• Monitor work progress and ensure timely completion according to project schedule.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
• Identify and resolve technical issues and construction challenges on-site.
• Evaluate and recommend solutions for design discrepancies and site variations.
• Prepare and review site reports, progress updates, and quality control documentation.
• Ensure all testing and commissioning works are carried out according to specifications.
• Coordinate and chair site meetings to discuss progress, issues, and corrective actions.
• Support project management team in managing project costs, claims, and contractual matters.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience in building construction projects, preferably in high-rise or commercial developments.
• Strong knowledge of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Familiar with local construction codes, standards, and authority requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and MS Office applications.
• Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is an added advantage.
• Possess own transport and willing to work full-time at project site.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM6, RM8,000.00 per month
