Position: Data Center Technician

Industry: IT & Software Services

Working Location: Sedenak, Kulai, Johor

Working Day/Hours: 5 days per week; 24/7 rotational shift (3 shift)

Working Duration: 6 + 6 months contract (Renewable based on performance)

Salary: Basic up to RM5, ,000 (Based on experience + skills) with statutory contribution + medical insurance + leave entitlement

Responsibility:

  • Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all production server hardware, and software.
  • Provides escalated 2nd level technical support for complex technical issues which may include leading problem management cases and providing management status.
  • Manages escalated support cases and leads appropriate internal technical resources and/or 3rd party vendors to resolution.
  • Assist with server operating system and application upgrades, bug fixes, and patching.
  • Working on standardization projects for both hardware and software under the company technology stack; while providing consistent system uptime as expected in an IaaS environment

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year experience
  • Strong background in Linux
  • Previous experience working in a Data Centre environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management, hot & cold aisle containment).
  • Responsible for a shift in a 24/7/365 working environment including on-call rostered basis shift
  • Solid knowledge of Data Centre Ecosystem (cooling, electrical, networking, and structured cabling)
  • Performance Management/Troubleshooting
  • Base Operating System Installation
  • Ability to understand internal customer problems and provide technical solutions in a timely manner.
  • Ability to understand customer urgency and sensitivity of a problem.
  • Ability to speak confidently and communicate clearly with internal customers.
  • Ability to work well within a demanding customer environment and delight customers.
  • Strong Adherence to Process and be a process champion
