Tax (Assistant Manager-Manager)

ParagonCorp Malaysia is seeking an experienced Tax professional to manage full-spectrum tax matters including corporate tax, SST, transfer pricing, and tax advisory for the Malaysia entity. This role supports compliance, planning, governance, and cross-border business activities within a fast-growing regional group.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Manage full-cycle tax compliance, including Corporate Tax, SST, Withholding Tax, and other statutory obligations.
- Prepare and review annual tax computations, tax returns, and supporting schedules.
- Ensure timely submission of tax filings and tax payments.
- Coordinate with external tax agents, auditors, and authorities to ensure compliance with Malaysian tax regulations.
2. Transfer Pricing (TP) Management
- Prepare, update, and maintain Transfer Pricing Documentation (Master File & Local File) in compliance with Malaysian TP Guidelines.
- Review intercompany transactions to ensure arm's length pricing and proper justification.
- Work with regional teams to align TP policies, agreements, and group structures.
- Assist in TP planning, benchmarking, cost allocation models, and intra-group service arrangements.
- Support TP audits, inquiries, and risk assessments by tax authorities.
3. Tax Advisory & Planning
- Provide tax advisory support for operational decisions, new initiatives, and cross-border transactions.
- Identify tax planning opportunities to improve tax efficiency while ensuring compliance.
- Review tax implications of business transactions, contracts, and group restructuring exercises.
4. Governance, Control & Risk Management
- Ensure strong tax governance through accurate documentation, process controls, and updated tax SOPs.
- Monitor updates in Malaysian tax laws and assess business impact.
- Support and manage tax audits, investigations, and queries from authorities.
5. Internal Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with Finance, Legal, Procurement, HR, and regional teams to ensure tax compliance and alignment.
- Provide tax-related guidance, training, and support to internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to tax forecasting, budgeting, and internal tax reporting to management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field.
- Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CTIM, ICAEW) is an added advantage.

2–4 years - Assistant Manager:
4–6 years - Manager:
6+ years, with strong exposure to tax planning and transfer pricing - Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax laws, SST, Corporate Tax, and Transfer Pricing Guidelines.
- Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or regional group structures is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Able to work independently and handle multiple deadlines or complex tax matters.
