Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) management systems in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
  • Ensure site activities align with environmental laws, safety regulations, and ISO standards, reporting non-compliance.
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify and mitigate environment, safety, and health hazards.
  • Perform routine inspections to enforce safety protocols and address hazards or unsafe practices.
  • Plan and deliver training to staff and subcontractors for awareness and adherence to ESH policies.
  • Promptly report incidents, facilitate investigations, and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor project activities to ensure effective waste management, resource usage, and pollution control.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans, ensuring personnel are trained in procedures.
  • Maintain accurate ESH records and prepare performance reports, including audits and incident investigations.
  • Ensure subcontractors and suppliers adhere to ESH requirements and safety protocols.
  • Support sustainability practices and identify opportunities to enhance ESH standards on-site.
  • Support the Management Representative in internal audits of the ESH management system, assisting in ensuring compliance with ISO standards and identifying areas for improvement.

Job Responsibility

  • Accountable for ensuring compliance with ESH laws, regulations, and project-specific requirements under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
  • Report, investigate, and track corrective actions for accidents, near-misses, and non-compliance issues.
  • Implement effective waste management, sustainability initiatives, and environmental controls to reduce ecological impact.
  • Monitor and enforce health and safety measures, including proper use of PPE and adherence to protocols.
  • Maintain accurate ESH records, assist in internal audits, and ensure corrective actions from audits are implemented.
  • Support sustainability, quality control, and the resolution of issues from incidents, inspections, and audits.

Requirement/Skills

  1. A diploma or degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Relevant certifications such as Certified Safety & Health Officer (SHO) by DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety and Health Malaysia), and other recognized ESH certifications.
  3. 3-5 years of experience in ESH roles, with hands-on experience in safety and environmental management.
  4. Experience in specific industries such as construction and substation project in an added advantage.
  5. Experience in conducting site inspections, risk assessments, and implementing safety measures in various working environments.

Skills:

  1. In-depth knowledge of local ESH laws and regulations, including OSHA, EQA, and industry-specific standards.
  2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and safety management software.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with workers, supervisors, and management.
  5. Strong report-writing and documentation skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid Malaysian driver's license (Class D) for site visits and inspections.
  • Willingness to travel to and from various construction sites.
  • Having experience in a Data Center is an added advantage
