Travel Counselor

A significant part of our operations involves crafting bespoke tours to China, requiring deep collaboration with our network of trusted ground operators. To strengthen our team, we are seeking a skilled and passionate Travel Consultant who is fluent in both English and Chinese.

Position Summary

We are looking for a highly organized and client-focused Travel Consultant to design, plan, and book travel arrangements for our clients. The ideal candidate will be a crucial link between our clients and our ground operators in China. Proficiency in reading and writing in Chinese (Mandarin) is mandatory for this role, as it is essential for negotiating with suppliers, clarifying operational details, and ensuring the flawless execution of itineraries within China.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Consultation & Itinerary Planning:

• Conduct in-depth consultations with clients to understand their travel needs, preferences, and budget.
• Design, customize, and propose detailed travel itineraries, including tours, accommodations, transportation, and activities, with a focus on travel to China.
• Provide expert advice on destinations, visa requirements, travel insurance, and cultural nuances.

2. Customer Service & Problem Resolution:

• Provide outstanding customer service throughout the travel planning process and, when necessary, during travel.
• Act swiftly to resolve any issues that clients may encounter before or during their trip, often requiring immediate coordination with ground operators in China.
• Gather feedback from clients post-travel to improve future services.

3. Administrative Duties:

• Maintain up-to-date client records and files.
• Stay informed about travel industry trends, destination updates, and health and safety protocols, particularly for China.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Tourism & Hospitality Management, Business Administration or related field.
• Certificate or Diploma in Ticketing / IATA / Travel / Tourism / Hospitality.
• Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a travel industry General working knowledge of Travel Industry and related technologies.
• Excellent knowledge of reservations systems (GDS), IATA rules and faring Experience with project management.
• Good command of MS Office and Excel.
