Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Lorry Driver cum Salesman with a valid GDL license to join our distribution team based in Seksyen 34, Shah Alam. In addition to driving and delivery duties, this role involves daily field sales, visiting existing customers, taking orders, supplying goods, and building strong customer relationships. The role is ideal for candidates who are comfortable driving, selling, and working independently on the road.

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Delivery Duties

  • Drive company lorries to deliver goods to customers across assigned routes
  • Ensure timely, safe, and accurate delivery of orders
  • Load and unload goods as required (assistance may be provided)
  • Inspect and maintain vehicle condition, reporting any issues promptly
  • Maintain delivery logs, mileage records, and fuel receipts
  • Follow all road safety regulations and company policies

Sales & Customer Management Duties

  • Visit assigned customers (e.g. retail outlets, wholesalers) daily
  • Promote and sell company products during delivery rounds
  • Take orders, upsell products, and encourage repeat purchases
  • Issue invoices, credit notes, and receipts accurately
  • Collect payments where applicable and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Ensure customers are visited and attended to regularly
  • Perform basic merchandising at customer locations to ensure proper product display
  • Monitor customer stock levels and recommend reorders
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers
  • Gather market feedback, competitor information, and customer insights
  • Submit daily or weekly sales and collection reports

Additional Duties

  • Assist in warehouse operations when not on delivery (if required)
  • Support ad-hoc operational tasks assigned by management

Requirements

  • Valid GDL license – mandatory
  • Proven experience as a lorry driver; sales experience is an advantage
  • Familiar with routes across Peninsular Malaysia
  • Physically fit and able to handle loading/unloading tasks
  • Comfortable with basic sales documentation and cash handling
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Responsible, disciplined, and able to work independently
  • Forklift handling experience is a plus

Working Hours

  • Monday to Saturday
  • Flexibility required depending on delivery routes and sales schedules
