PURPOSE

FO Energy Risk & Accounting (ERA) consists of three key process areas

• Manage Hydrocarbon Inventory (MHI), Trading Settlements, and Market Risk.
• The MHI process extends across many steps in the lifecycle of hydrocarbon stock in Group from recording contracts for purchases and sales of stock in our systems, recording stock movements, stock reconciliations, invoicing for stock sales and payments for stock purchases, through to stock valuation.
• To ensure timely and accurate payment of Hydrocarbon Management's (HM) payables, and settlement of Hydrocarbon Management's receivables and to ensure timely and accurate recording and reconciliation of hydrocarbon stocks for relevant plants by validating all incoming and outgoing movements and posting the relevant book to physical loss/gain for month end closure.
• Provide proactively issue resolution to support E2E process and value chain in Hydrocarbon area.
• Deliver assigned activities and drive for operational excellence within the team.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Operate Hydrocarbon Management Accounts Payable and Receivable processes
• Ensure that all payments and receipts are made in accordance with relevant contracts.
• Verify and process Hydrocarbon invoices.
• Troubleshoot issues relating to HM payments and receivables.
  • Ensure strict compliance with payment / receipt deadlines.
• Prepare manual journal entries in accordance to FCM controls.
  • Reconciliation of relevant accounts using Blackline.
• Execution RDS / FCM controls per controls role mapping requirements.
  • Identify and understand key components/movements in Inventories GL and key contract details updated in the system (e.g. fixed price/ formula price).
• Record the primary stock movements for 3rd party terminals according to the bills of lading.
• Validate that all movement transactions which have physically taken place have been accurately and completely recorded in the system before stocks are reconciled.
• Validate if discrepancies exist, that they are being investigated and resolved on timely basis.
• Reconcile book vs physical stocks on regular basis, and on time for period end close.
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies with figures from 3rd party operated depots, including stock differences outside of tolerance.
• Post any final stock differences
• Understand and effectively operate the appropriate financial controls associated with the process in order to mitigate financial reporting risks
• Ensure timely storage of evidence on task carried out in Global Records Management System
• Provide information to direct stakeholders timely, accurately, and professionally
• Identify and assist in developing solutions for issues identified for operating units in scope of role
• Apply ESSA (Eliminate, Simplify, Standardize, Automate) mindset to drive process simplification and improvement
• Ensure timely and accurate deliveries of team's KPIs
• Ensure compliance and execution of RDS, Key Controls and Non Key Controls in accordance to Shell Controls Framework
• Projects / Assignments Participate (which include delivery of the deliverables within the stipulate timeline, issues escalation and manage expectation gaps) in external and internal rollout/projects / assignments.

SPECIAL CHALLENGES

• Provide support to the team on Continuous Improvement projects
• Understand the process underlying business implications and its impact on process steps
• Build end-to-end business and process knowledge, as well as market- and country-specific knowledge of customers
• Manage and meet multiple deadlines
• Ensure tight compliance to key FCM Controls around Group reporting
• Establish and maintain good working relations with stakeholders

Job Requirements:

• A degree in Finance/Accounting or Professional Qualifications is preferred.
• Min 2 Years of experience in accounting
• Fluent Thai Speaker for supporting Thai market
• Good problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and an inquisitive mindset
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) as well as interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver results and meet business needs.
• Capable of working under pressure and highly driven to meet deadlines.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Applications, especially Excel
