R2A GL/Closing (IT) Functional Consultant – SAP Global Deployment

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Hybrid)

Department: Project Deployment – APAC

Reports to: Regional Finance Deployment Lead

Duration: 1 Year (extendable)

About the Role

Join a multi-year global transformation program (PROJECT) focused on defining and developing a Global SAP S/4HANA Template to simplify, standardize, and automate finance business processes across regions.

As an R2A GL/Closing (IT) Functional Consultant, you will play a key role in bridging technology and finance — delivering scalable SAP solutions that enable efficiency, compliance, and business excellence across APAC deployments.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the primary SAP R2A (Record to Analyze) functional expert for General Ledger (GL) and Month-End Closing processes.

Drive and deliver IT and business deliverables for assigned deployment projects.

Support design of To-Be finance processes and develop functional specifications based on business requirements.

Perform SAP configuration, document solutions, and ensure alignment with global standards.

Support testing (unit, system, integration, UAT) and assist in test data preparation.

Collaborate on data migration, cut-over planning, and go-live activities.

Identify and resolve system configuration conflicts across multiple project landscapes.

Provide localization insights for APAC entities to ensure compliance and standardization.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

8+ years of SAP experience, with strong focus on General Ledger, R2A, and Month-End Closing.

Hands-on experience with SAP SmartClose and SolMan ALM methodologies.

Strong understanding of finance domain architecture, integrations, and cross-functional flows.

Skilled in process analysis, requirements gathering, and documentation.

Strong conceptual and problem-solving abilities – able to simplify complex business challenges.

Excellent communication skills in English and ability to influence stakeholders up to Director level.

Comfortable working in agile environments with multiple concurrent initiatives.

Willingness to travel as per project needs.

Prior experience in the pharmaceuticals industry is a strong advantage.
