Job Title: Clinic Assistant

Department: GP Clinic Operations

Reports To: Clinic Manager / Doctor-in-Charge

Location: Klinik MyFam

Job Summary:

The Clinic Assistant supports the daily operations of the GP clinic by performing both administrative and basic clinical tasks. This includes registering patients, assisting the doctor during consultations, managing appointments, and ensuring smooth patient flow. The role is essential in delivering efficient and friendly primary healthcare services to the community.

Key Responsibilities:1. Patient Registration & Front Desk Duties

  • Greet and register patients in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Verify patient particulars and update medical records.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, walk-in patients, and queue numbers.
  • Handle phone and online inquiries regarding clinic services and operating hours.
  • Collect payments, process insurance claims, and issue receipts.

2. Administrative Support

  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality.
  • Manage clinic filing, stock inventory, and order medical consumables.
  • Assist with documentation for medical certificates, referral letters, and memos.
  • Prepare daily reports, billing summaries, and assist with claims submissions.

3. Clinical Assistance (as permitted by local regulations)

  • Prepare consultation rooms before and after each patient.
  • Take and record basic vital signs (e.g., temperature, blood pressure, height, weight).
  • Assist the doctor with minor procedures, vaccinations, dressings, and health screenings.
  • Sterilize and prepare instruments and equipment.
  • Assist in managing medication inventory and packing prescriptions.

4. Patient Care & Service

  • Guide patients through the clinic process and explain follow-up instructions.
  • Provide basic information on prescribed medications and clinic procedures (under guidance of the doctor or nurse).
  • Ensure patient comfort, safety, and privacy throughout their visit.

5. Compliance & Safety

  • Follow clinic SOPs, infection control, and safety protocols.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with PDPA and healthcare regulations.
  • Participate in training sessions and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a GP or primary care clinic preferred.
  • Familiar with insurance claims, and clinic billing systems.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and clinic management software.
  • Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays (if required).

Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced GP clinic environment.
  • May involve standing for extended periods.
  • Shift work or weekend work may be required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM1, RM2,500.00 per month
