Position Overview

Hoist operators are responsible for operating construction hoists, material hoists, or elevator-type lifting equipment on construction or industrial sites , used for the vertical transportation of personnel or materials. This position is crucial in high-rise building construction and large-scale engineering projects, requiring operators to be familiar with the machinery and adhere to safety regulations to ensure efficient and safe lifting operations.

Main Responsibilities

1. Hoist operation

According to the construction plan, operate the elevator to transport workers, equipment and materials to the designated floors.

Strictly abide by operating procedures and control the lifting speed and height.

Receive and confirm ground command signals to ensure safe ascending and descending.

1. Daily inspection and maintenance

Before starting the machine every day, check the wire rope, brake device, limit device, safety door, interlock device, electrical system, etc.

Keep the elevator clean, add lubricating oil in time and eliminate general faults.

If any equipment abnormality is found, shut it down immediately and report it to maintenance personnel.

1. Security and Compliance

Strictly abide by the construction site safety operating procedures and signal command system.

Overloading, speeding or illegal operation are prohibited to avoid accidents involving personnel and materials.

Ensure that there are no obstacles and no unauthorized personnel in the lifting channel and surrounding areas.

Stop working when encountering strong winds, heavy rain or bad weather.

1. Collaboration and Communication

Maintain effective communication with on-site construction personnel, commanders and other machinery operators.

Adjust operations according to instructions from construction supervisor or safety officer.

Cooperate with the vertical transportation plan of the construction site to ensure the progress of the project.

1. Records and Reports

Fill out daily equipment operation and maintenance records.

Submit reports of equipment anomalies and safety hazards to supervisor.

Job requirements

Junior high school degree or above, major in mechanical, electrical or construction related is preferred.

You must hold a special equipment operating license (construction elevator/material hoist operating license) .

1-3 years or more of experience in hoist operation, familiar with construction hoists, material hoists and other equipment.

Master basic mechanical maintenance knowledge and be able to handle common faults.

Be in good health, not afraid of heights, and have a strong sense of safety and responsibility.

Bonus points

Experience in high-rise buildings, large construction sites or industrial site operations.

Familiar with various types of lifting equipment (rack and pinion, passenger and cargo construction lifts, etc.).

Understand HSE (health, safety, and environment) management requirements.
