Field Service Engineer

As a Field Service Engineer for Agilent, you will work at a variety of labs, so having an appetite for continuously learning about new instruments, software, and consumables is key. Applying your interpersonal skills, creativity and can-do attitude is critical. The ability to help solve customer problems and a dedication to delivering the highest levels of customer service are key to building customer success.
You will support our customers with on-site installation, implementation, maintenance, and repair of company and multi-vendor systems solutions. Our varied product lines include hardware, software, and networking products as well as operating systems.
Job Requirement: Meet Agilent-approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain site access, unless prohibited by law.
Territory Details:
- The ideal candidate will reside within in KL/Selangor and will travel across the north of Malaysia i.e. Perak, Penang, Kedah.
- Territory travel will include coverage across the North of Malaysia and if required to East Coast Malaysia.
- Able to travel up to 80% of the time.
Responsibilities will include:
- Installs and optimizes hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites for Chromatography Systems.
- Diagnoses and resolves product performance problems.
- Performs maintenance and repairs.
- Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance.
- Proactively responds to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business.
- Deliver fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems, and application software.
- May train other field engineers and customers on the solutions.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a Science field (e.g., Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or similar), or relevant work experience.
- 0-2+ years of experience in a similar position or as an end-user.
- Experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Experience with chromatography systems such as Liquid Chromatography (LC), Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS), Gas Chromatography (GC), and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), either as an end-user or in field service, is required.
- Experience with UV-Vis and FTIR is a plus.
- Experience with Agilent solutions is desired but not essential.
- Clear, respectful, and timely verbal and written communication skills.
- Must enjoy visiting customers, and that may have occasional overnight stays if needed.
- Travel requirement: Must be available for up to 80% which includes overnight travel, and may not be limited to travel within the territory to support clients.
