Job Summary

The Chief Steward is responsible for overseeing all stewarding operations to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation across kitchen and food & beverage areas. This role manages stewarding staff, equipment, and supplies while ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and supporting smooth kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and schedule the stewarding team to ensure efficient daily operations
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in kitchens, restaurants, storage areas, and back-of-house facilities
  • Ensure proper handling, cleaning, and storage of all kitchen equipment, utensils, and tableware
  • Monitor and control the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines
  • Ensure full compliance with hygiene, food safety standards at all times
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and stewarding areas and take corrective actions where necessary
  • Coordinate closely with the Executive Chef and F&B team to support kitchen operations and events
  • Manage inventory of stewarding supplies and place purchase requisitions as required
  • Train stewarding staff on hygiene standards, safety procedures, and proper equipment usage
  • Handle staff performance, discipline, and coaching in line with company policies

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Chief Steward or Senior Steward in a hotel, resort, or large-scale F&B operation
  • Strong knowledge of hygiene standards and food safety regulations
  • Good leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
  • Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and organizational skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2, RM3,200.00 per month
