Seller Risk Analyst

We are looking to hire an experienced analyst to partner closely with the Seller Risk Policy team. With a vision to identify opportunities to drive transformative change in risk detection and achieve significant loss prevention, we mine massive datasets in the global e-commerce sector and apply world-class analytical and big data techniques to extract impactful insights.

As a critical member of the Seller Risk team, this role offers a unique opportunity to influence decision-making for the risk policy roadmap through your professional insights. To be successful in this role:

Core Requirements
  1. 3+ years of experience in analytics/data science.
  2. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Business Administration, Business Analytics, or related fields.
  3. Collaborate with business partners to understand business needs and define appropriate analytical approaches to address them.
  4. Extract data using SQL/HIVE, understand business logic, develop dashboards with Tableau (or similar tools) to visualize core business metrics and decision-making processes, and monitor and analyze anomalies and trends.
  5. Proficiency in Tableau dashboard development.
  6. Create statistical anomaly alerts using Sherlock.
  7. Conduct quantitative analysis with advanced data analytics/science technologies, identify patterns to uncover business opportunities in risk management, and generate analytical insights to support business decisions and address ecosystem vulnerabilities.
  8. Develop, improve, and systemize concise and accurate reporting, streamline processes, and identify and implement automation and time-saving initiatives.
  9. Quick learner with intellectual curiosity, passion for problem-solving, and ability to thrive in ambiguous environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Proven track record of translating insights into business opportunities in previous roles, with increasing scope of responsibilities.
  2. Strong technical skills in big data analytics; familiarity with SQL/Hive, Tableau dashboard development, and anomaly detection in Sherlock is preferred. Proficiency in Python or machine learning is a plus.
  3. Background in risk management at a leading e-commerce or online payment company is preferred.
  4. Ability to effectively present complex analyses and insights in clear, concise terms.
  5. Solid English communication skills (verbal, reading, and writing) – mandatory requirement.
  6. A Ph.D. degree is a plus.
