Job Summary:

The EIU Chargeman L4 + Certified Grid-Connected Photovoltaic (GCPV) Installer is responsible for overseeing, installing, operating, and maintaining electrical and solar photovoltaic systems in compliance with the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) and SEDA Malaysia regulations. The role ensures all electrical and solar PV works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with statutory requirements and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:Electrical (Chargeman L4 Duties):

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot low voltage (LV) electrical systems and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with Electricity Supply Act 1990, Energy Commission guidelines, and safety regulations.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on switchboards, transformers, and electrical panels.
  • Supervise electrical installation, testing, and commissioning work.
  • Respond promptly to electrical faults and breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  • Prepare maintenance reports, logbooks, and inspection records for submission to the Energy Commission (ST).

Solar PV (GCPV Installer Duties):

  • Design, install, test, and commission grid-connected solar PV systems in accordance with SEDA Malaysia standards.
  • Perform system wiring, inverter setup, and AC/DC integration.
  • Conduct site surveys, shading analysis, and rooftop safety assessments.
  • Ensure PV installations comply with MS 1837, MS 1838, and other relevant Malaysian standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure smooth execution of PV projects.
  • Perform system performance monitoring and troubleshooting.

Requirements:

  • Chargeman L4 Certificate (authorized by the Energy Commission of Malaysia).
  • Certified GCPV Installer License (by SEDA Malaysia).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electrical maintenance or solar PV installation.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards, PV system components, and single-line diagrams.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and PV drawings.
  • Physically fit and able to work at heights or in outdoor environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Valid CIDB Green Card and Working at Height (WAH) certification (preferred).

Work Environment:

  • Project sites (commercial buildings, industrial plants, solar rooftops, or solar farms).
  • Office-based reporting for documentation and system monitoring.
  • May require occasional travel to different project locations.
