Audit Trainee

Job DescriptionJob Summary: The Audit Trainee will assist the audit team in performing statutory and special audits in accordance with approved auditing standards and firm procedures. This role provides hands-on training in audit fieldwork, client communication, and the use of professional audit software (Abot), offering valuable exposure to the full audit cycle and compliance processes. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements for clients across various industries. Perform audit testing on financial statement line items and internal controls under supervision. Prepare and organize audit working papers and documentation in accordance with firm standards. Identify and document audit findings, variances, and recommendations for improvement. Assist in drafting financial statements and audit reports. Support the audit team in ensuring timely completion of assignments and compliance with deadlines. Liaise with clients to obtain necessary audit evidence and resolve audit queries. Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethics in all client dealings. Participate in continuous professional development, including training and technical updates. Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Detail-oriented and organized. Personal Attributes: Eager to learn and adapt to digital audit technologies. Responsible, proactive, and able to work in a team.
