Sika was first established in Malaysia in 1989 and full operations commenced in 1991 through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sika Kimia Sdn Bhd, with the completion of its local head office and production plant in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. Since then, the company has gained a leading position in the country with the acceptance and endorsement of its products for construction and industrial applications by local and international proponents.
In the Construction sector, our business activities cover the full spectrum of project types ranging from infrastructural development to buildings, from institutional facilities to manufacturing plants. We service our direct customers – concrete producers, contractors and distributors – and stay close to them through our central sales & marketing office in Petaling Jaya and a network of sales offices in Penang, Johor Bahru, Kuantan, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu. In 2014 our presence in the Malaysian construction continued to grow when our Ipoh Plant was built and running to meet customer demands.
In Malaysia, our Industry Division is the clear market leader in the automotive glass replacement sector (AGR) and the "Sikaflex" brand is instantly recognized as a mark for quality, reliability and performance. In the automotive OEM sector, we are the approved supplier to top German car markets such as Mercedes Benz and BMW. Meanwhile, Sika leads the field in total bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing and protection solutions for bus, truck and rail vehicle manufacturing, and for the assembly of appliances, industrial equipment and building components.
Sika Kimia Sdn Bhd currently employs more than 340 people in Sales & Marketing, Technical Service, Finance, HR & Administration, Laboratory, Production, Purchasing, Customer Service and Warehouse.
Job Description
Responsible in assisting top management/National ESH drive ESH excellence through culture building by creating and rolling relevant strategies to meet the company's goals on ESH and security performance.
- To advocate and push adherence towards legal, compliance and regulatory requirements. Responsible to adopt and deliver best practices from the region and group, foster BBS, implement Sika Minimum Requirement, Sika Live Saving Rules & QA standards. Deployed across all Sika Malaysia site
- Act as the Management Representative(s) in ensuring proper and effective implementation of the company's Sika Management System. Ensuring that the SMS is established and maintained in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 9001/ISO 14001/ISO 45001 International Standards and to communicate the necessary within the site.
- Performs ESH audits using corporate tools, analyzing trends and sharing recommendations to stakeholders. Share monthly reports on audit outcomes and constantly follow up on closure rate.
a. Main Tasks
- Help develop and implement EHS and security strategies: Help design and implement comprehensive EHS roadmaps and initiatives to ensure compliance with industry standards and align with company global EHS initiatives for Senai.
- Strategic Partner – communication: Spearhead initiative to synchronize and help national ESH, QA and Compliance to deploy new programs and practices. Especially on auditing and reporting for Sika Senai. Develop multiple ways to ensure communication reaches all levels across the plant.
Help Policy Development and Documentation: Help develop, review, and update EHS policies, procedures, and guidelines to promote a safe and healthy working environment as per Sika's corporate and regional guidelines. Ensure all documentation meets regulatory requirements and is effectively communicated to relevant stakeholders
Initiate and coordinate periodic review of the SMS for Senai site
- Alongside QA dept, review and update work procedure into SMS
Coordinate a strategic approach to perform audits at site using regional tools. Create reports/dashboards on a timely manner & ensure follow-up are done (NC closure, audit findings) in a periodic manner
Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Engage site leadership team at Senai during audits and floor members to perform regular safety walks and initiate internal EHS & security audits to identify potential hazards, assess EHS risks, and develop site-based strategies to mitigate risks. Implement corrective and preventive actions wherever necessary while coordinating with other departments.
- Training and Education: Develop and deliver EHS & security training programs for employees at all levels including management. To promote awareness, compliance, and culture of ESH to all. Coordinate and conduct training programs associated with quality, environmental, safety and health for relevant Sika staff
- Incident Investigation and Reporting: Lead investigations pertaining to EHS incidents, accidents, near misses, and other relevant events at Senai site. Lend a helping hand whenever needed to other SIKA Malaysia sites. Analyze root causes, implement corrective actions, and prepare comprehensive incident reports. Ensure timely reporting to relevant authorities, management and group as required
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Deploy corporate or country guidelines key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor EHS and security performance. Oversee reporting tool Spheracloud and deploy corrective actions accordingly. Tackling lagging and leading indicators accordingly for Senai site.
- Supplier and Contractor Management: Help Engage and collaborate with procurement to evaluate EHS performance of suppliers and contractors. Establish criteria for selection, conduct assessments, and ensure compliance with EHS standards throughout the supply chain. Embed EHS topics in the core of the process for Senai plant.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant EHS regulations, standards, and industry developments. Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable laws and regulations proactively address any changes or updates. Liaise with consultants, local statutory bodies (DOE & DOSH,BOMBA etc.), certification bodies on matters relating to Quality, Environmental, Security, Health and Safety to ensure compliance with relevant legal and Sika requirements.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance EHS, security and QA processes, systems, and practices across other Sika Malaysia sites. Foster culture of innovation through audits, accountability, and continuous learning within the organization

Qualifications
- Candidate must possess at least bachelor's degree/ Post Graduate Diploma/ Professional Degree in Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent
- In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices, particularly in the manufacturing industry
- Strong auditing skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and presentation skills
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate, influence, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Experience developing and delivering EHS training programs.
- Certifications in quality audit, improvement, EHS competency are added advantages
- Experience in SAP is added advantages
