JOB SUMMARY
The School of Engineering and Science invites applications for the position of Professor – Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering. Candidates should have expertise in one or more of the following areas: Vibration, Dynamic Systems and Control, Renewable Energy System Management, Hydrogen Technology Systems Design, or Advanced/Smart Manufacturing.
Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution and be registered with a professional body. Professional qualifications such as PEng, IPEA, or APEC Engineer, or active progress toward these, will be considered a strong advantage.
The ideal candidate should have extensive teaching experience in higher education, a strong record of impactful research and leadership, and the ability to build meaningful collaborations between academia and industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to the ongoing development of curriculum and instructional materials across programs and levels.
- Deliver high-quality teaching including lectures, tutorials, labs, and assessments, ensuring strong learning outcomes.
- Provide academic consultation and mentoring to students.
- Continuously improve teaching, training, and mentoring practices.
- Support the Faculty's learning, teaching, and academic initiatives.
- Build and maintain a strong research and scholarly portfolio.
- Supervise honours, postgraduate, and doctoral students.
- Participate in research training, contribute to research group development, and expand collaborative research networks.
- Uphold high academic, ethical, and professional standards.
- Contribute to the administration and enhancement of academic programs.
- Engage with industries and professional sectors to strengthen partnerships.
- Demonstrate leadership in academic, research, professional, and community activities that align with the Faculty's goals.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- A PhD in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Professional registration with a recognized body such as the Board of Engineers Malaysia.
- Possession of or progress toward a professional qualification such as PEng, IPEA, or APEC Engineer is desirable.
- Expertise in one or more of the following fields: Vibration, Dynamic Systems and Control, Renewable Energy System Management, Hydrogen Technology Systems Design, or Advanced/Smart Manufacturing.
- Significant teaching experience at the tertiary level.
- A proven track record of high-quality, impactful research and recognized leadership in research.
- Experience in developing effective academic-industry partnerships is an advantage.
- Strong academic performance from pre-university level onwards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Evidence of innovation such as copyrights, patents, or contributions to academic entrepreneurship will be valued.

Pay: RM19, RM29,000.00 per month
