Job Description:

As a Geospatial Data Collector, you will play a crucial role in capturing the world's vast and diverse landscapes, helping to enhance mapping technology. Your responsibilities will revolve around driving designated routes while utilizing specialized equipment to collect high-quality geospatial data.

Key Responsibilities:

i. Data Collection: To collect the geospatial data using advanced imaging and mapping technology on the ground based on client requirements and standards.

ii. Route Planning: Plan efficient routes for data collection, ensuring comprehensive coverage of assigned areas.

iii. Quality Assurance: Conduct regular checks on equipment and data collection procedures to maintain the highest data accuracy and completeness standards.

iv. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve any technical or operational issues during data collection.

v. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws, safety guidelines, and company policies while operating the data collection vehicle.

vi. Communication: Maintain effective communication with the data collection team and project managers, providing updates on progress and any encountered challenges.

vii. Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the data collection vehicle & equipment is well-maintained and report any maintenance needs promptly.

viii. Record Keeping: Maintain detail records and logs of data collection activities.

Requirements:

i. Driver's License: A valid Malaysian Driving License with clean record is mandatory.

ii. Navigation Skills: Skillful in using navigation tools through different routes efficiently and proficient with mapping applications.

iii. Attention to Detail: Meticulousness is essential to ensure accurate data obtained.

iv. Reliability: Accountable, timely, and having a strong responsibility is vital for effective data collection.

v. Technical Aptitude: Basic technical understanding and troubleshooting skills for data collection equipment is necessary.

vi. Flexibility: Resilient to schedule changes, routes, and project requirements.

vii. Communication Skills: Articulate and persuasive in collaborating with team members and supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications:

i. Experienced in data collection, geospatial mapping, or GIS related field.

ii. Conversant with Google Maps or other mapping technologies.

iii. Experience using specialized data collection equipment.
