We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Commis Chef to join our Oriental Kopi kitchen team. The Commis Chef plays an important role in daily kitchen operations, ensuring all dishes are cooked and presented according to Oriental Kopi's quality, hygiene, and consistency standards.

Job Description:

  • Prepare, cook, and present all menu items according to standard recipes and portion sizes.
  • Ensure all food is cooked at the correct temperature, taste, and presentation before serving.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and freshness at all times.
  • Check ingredients for quality and freshness before use.
  • Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and stock rotation (FIFO).
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen areas, utensils, and cooking equipment.
  • Assist in receiving and organizing kitchen supplies.
  • Support senior chefs during busy hours to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Follow all kitchen safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
  • Report any equipment malfunction or shortage of ingredients to the Chef/Kitchen Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the management.

Job Requirement:

  • At least 1–2 years of working experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment.
  • Experience in local cuisine is an added advantage.
  • Strong passion for cooking, teamwork, and maintaining food quality.
  • Responsible, punctual, and able to perform under pressure.
  • Willing to work on shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practice.
