Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Butcher with a minimum of 2 years' hands-on experience to join our team. The ideal candidate must be proficient in preparing all standard cuts of beef, chicken, lamb, and fish, and must also be capable of preparing and applying marinades. This role requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all butchery tasks, including cutting, trimming, deboning, portioning, and preparing meats (beef, chicken, lamb, fish).
- Apply marinades and prepare ready-to-cook or display cuts according to store standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the butchery area, tools, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Receive, inspect, and properly store meat and fish products.
- Monitor inventory levels and report low stock or spoilage to the supervisor.
- Label and date all items correctly following FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Provide friendly, informed customer service when required.
- Follow all store safety and hygiene protocols.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 2 years of qualified experience as a butcher in a retail, F&B or foodservice setting.
- Proven ability to handle all standard cuts of beef, chicken, lamb, and fish.
- Skilled in marinating and preparing meats for retail sale or cooking.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy lifting and standing for long periods.
Working Conditions, Schedule
- Must be able to work weekends and public holidays as needed.
- 6 day work week with 1 off day
- Working hours: 9am to 6pm
- Able to handle exposure to cold environments (e.g., chillers, freezers).
- Regular use of sharp knives and cutting tools; adherence to safety gear and standards is a must.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM3, RM3,500.00 per month
