Purpose of The Job: The APAC Marketing Manager – BLS is responsible for driving the market positioning and strategy in the APAC markets to ensure continued growth and competitive penetration. This position will focus on the implementation of marketing strategies and campaigns to promote the business within the region, whilst also working closely with the US based Marketing leaders to execute on global strategies within APAC.

Within the APAC region, analyse customer insights, consumer trends, market share data, and competitor initiatives, and translate the implications into actionable plans. Produce an annual marketing plan for all market segments and manage a budget that aligns strategies and initiatives with those defined in the mid-term plan, whilst also contributing to the annual mid-term planning activities.

In alignment with the marketing teams within ANZ, ASEAN, and Greater China:

  1. Create strong partnerships with the Sales Leaders to drive customer engagement, and ensure strategy and initiatives are synergistic.
  2. Work closely with the Marketing and Marketing Communications to effectively deliver product and company messages to the sales teams and market.
  3. Plan, develop, and assist to organise marketing campaigns to support business growth objectives.
  4. Track ROI on campaigns.
  5. Manage or perform work across multiple sub-families including:
  6. Product / Brand Marketing
  7. Defining targeted customer segments and associated messaging
  8. Developing marketing strategies and plans
  9. Analysing markets to identify opportunities, determine product requirements, and inform marketing strategies.
  10. Managing the product / brand Opex for Advertising and Promotion.
  11. Creating or coordinating the production and distribution of advertising and promotional materials.
  12. Market Research and Analysis
  13. Gathering and analysing marketplace trends and customer data.

Responsibilities:

Market Knowledge:

  1. Demonstrate excellent knowledge and understanding of those sectors in the market relative to the company’s business to ensure the company’s products achieve their maximum potential.
  2. Establish and maintain accurate overall market information relating to size, trends, selling prices and promotion programs.
  3. Monitor, analyse and effectively communicate competitive activity, highlighting potential impact on the business.
  4. Setting strategy for public safety products/solutions and working with sales in executing strategies to develop the business across the APAC region. This includes markets such as fire, mining, and the public general market.
  5. Leading and working with wider teams in events for business partners and industry leaders.
  6. Collaborate with hospital and EMS teams on certain projects, events, and tenders.
  7. Working closely with the St John business.
  8. Support development & execution of successful channel specific marketing plans.
  9. Partner with Global teams to localise global marketing content.
  10. Apply Organisations values to marketing campaigns & collateral.
  11. Implement strategies which act as a conduit between customer needs & Organisations values.
  12. Liaise with cross functional teams to ensure campaign success.
  13. Execute marketing material for launches.
  14. Execute marketing materials for lead stimulation.
  15. Execute marketing material for sales training & development.
  16. Develop customer specific activation campaigns.
  17. Provide insights from retailers purchasing criteria.
  18. Some event coordination.
  19. Partner with the marketing sales & customer service.
  20. Liaise with internal/external stakeholders.

Marketing Plan:

  1. Develop and recommend marketing plans to achieve optimum sales and profitability within the company guidelines.
  2. Develop and implement marketing plans which include sales/profit objectives, strategies, tactics, sales, and promotion budgets.
  3. Determine price and volume discount policies in conjunction with the Director of Asia Pacific.
  4. Revise marketing objectives to reflect changes in the business and report quarterly to the Director of Asia Pacific.
  5. Support the marketing managers to organise promotional campaigns and co-ordinate all aspects of product promotions. Maintaining mailing lists for effective product mailings and promotions.
  6. Ensure the company’s attendance at conferences achieves maximum market exposure within the constraints of the promotion budget.

New Product Opportunities:

  1. Identify and communicate new product opportunities to management.
  2. Develop and recommend new product opportunities for consideration.
  3. Develop at the request of management, a marketing proposal and/or plans for new products, providing market forecasts of volume, price, cost, including product launch.
  4. Search, identify and implement continuously, product line consolidation/discontinuance programs.

Product Knowledge:

  1. Develop and maintain product knowledge.
  2. In conjunction with the Sales Excellence team, develop and implement product training programs to ensure that staff are fully conversant with selling features and benefits of assigned products.
  3. Recognise and understand competitors’ products strengths and weaknesses with specific relevance to the company’s products within which training is being given.

Liaison/ Communication:

  1. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  2. Maintain productive working relationships with key contacts in relevant key accounts.
  3. Develop and maintain a close working relationship with Regional Sales Leaders to attain group and company sales goals.
  4. Maintain productive relationships within the company at a Global level.

Tenders and Contracts:

  1. Responsible for assisting marketing managers with the completion of product/specification sections in the processing of tenders, expressions of interest and proposals in the qualified time frame.

Distributor Marketing:

  1. Assist with distributor marketing efforts.
  2. Review distributor marketing initiatives and sign off on initiatives ensuring they are consistent with ZOLL key messages and the ZOLL style guide.
  3. Ensure Distributors are updated on new products and promotional material (through the Distributor Newsletter or other means).
  4. Ensure distributors have up to date brochures and marketing material.

Conference organisation:

  1. Management of budget.
  2. Stock logistics.
  3. Promotional Activities.
  4. Post event reporting to management.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 10 years marketing experience in the medical industry.
  2. Tertiary qualifications in marketing or business discipline. Knowledge of the medical industry.
  3. Ideally a master’s degree.
  4. Analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges.
  5. Budget management skills and proficiency.
  6. Experience in delivering high volume projects simultaneously with tight pressures.
  7. Desirable to have relevant sales experience.
  8. Strong communication skills.
  9. Attention to detail.
  10. Flexible and adaptable to changing needs.
  11. Creativity.
  12. People management skills.
