In Malaysia, we are involved in significant oil and gas production operations and the marketing of chemical products. We also host a global business and technology center in Kuala Lumpur that provides high-level information technology and engineering expertise to ExxonMobil’s upstream, downstream and chemical businesses worldwide.
What role you will play in our teamThe Advanced Materials Engineer position shall be in the Asia-Pacific Materials Integrity Team which is part of the Materials Integrity department. The role is to provide engineering support to Capital Projects and Operations across all business lines. Location – Menara ExxonMobil, KL.
What you will do- Provide day-to-day engineering support for materials-related work
- Provides on-site field support during scheduled maintenance activities
- Provide materials specialist support for large capital projects and smaller regional projects to ensure technical quality
- Participates in programs aimed at improving unit reliability and optimizing maintenance
- Supports industry activities (MTI, API and NACE) where appropriate
- Trains/Mentors entry-level employees to support their career development
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Materials Engineering with at least 10 years experience in the oil & gas industry
- Demonstrated work experience and knowledge in the following areas:
- Welding/fabrication and Inspection/Testing
- Metallurgy and manufacture
- Materials selection
- Failure Analysis
- Corrosion control
- Able and willing to travel to work sites and shop fabrication locations worldwide
