A talented and detail-oriented Colorist / R&D Senior Executive who will be responsible for color matching and developing formulations using recycled plastic to meet customer requirements. This role involves comprehensive research and development activities, including testing pigments and additives to enhance product properties while minimizing costs. The Colorist / R&D Senior Executive will also ensure that production outputs match the developed color and quality standards. Key Responsibilities:- Manage R&D projects from concept to commercialization, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Oversee the design, development, and testing of new products.
- Develop product formulations to match customer requirements for color and mechanical properties.
- Assess the cost-effectiveness and availability of raw materials for new product development.
- Experiment with new additives or pigments for compatibility and performance.
- Identify new opportunities for product development and improvement.
- Conduct research on recycled plastic materials, processes, and technologies.
- Ensure properties & color consistency and stability throughout the production process.
- Maintain detailed records of formulations, tests, and results.
- Prepare reports on R&D activities, findings, and recommendations.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including sales, sourcing, production and quality assurance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the R&D department.
- Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging idea generation and experimentation.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum diploma holder or related field.
- 5 years of experience in color matching or R&D, preferably in the recycled plastics or related industry.
- Proficiency in color matching and R&D techniques.
- Experience with spectrophotometers and other color measurement instruments.
- Experience with R&D documentation and reporting.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address formulation challenges.
- Ability to analyze test results and adjust formulations accordingly.
- Independent, able to work under minimal supervision
