The incumbent is responsible for managing the overall financial reporting requirements for PAMB for both external reporting (financial statements, regulator, external body) and internal management (Group submissions, management reporting - MIS, Business Plans) on a timely and accurate basis. This includes presentation of reports, financial results and financial statements to Finance & Actuarial leadership, ExCo & Board Audit Committee ("BAC") for review and approval.

The incumbent is also responsible for local and group accounting policy and accounting technical matters and a key business partner on IFRS 17 related topics. In addition, this would include undertaking to execute and deliver related local and regional-driven projects as and when defined.

The incumbent will also be a key liaison party for financial reporting matters (external auditors, Group-wide Internal Audit/Group Financial Controls team, regulators and Group Finance stakeholders).

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial reporting and management accounting
  • Manage the overall reporting functions, ensuring that reporting packs and submissions are prepared in accordance with PAMB accounting policies and approved accounting standards.
  • Ensure financial reporting and management-information deliverables are accurate, complete and submitted within the required timeline.
  • Review and analyses management reporting pack for both internal management and Group reporting purposes.
  • Ensure the preparation of reporting pack and financial statements to BAC for review and approval on a timely basis.
  • Provide key messages and insights to management for decision-making purposes, including presentation to management (Finance, Actuarial leadership and ExCo). This includes comparison and benchmarking to industry and competitors.
  • Coordinate and support the review the annual business plan and financial budget for both internal management and Group reporting purposes.
  • Ensure appropriate controls and reconciliations are implemented and maintained for all source system input, IFRS 17 upstream components and reporting ledgers, respectively.
  • Maintain oversight over accuracy and integrity of Group MIS.


Statutory and regulatory reporting
  • Responsible for the production of annual financial statements, regulatory submission in compliance with approved accounting standards and Bank Negara Malaysia ("BNM") guidelines, respectively.
  • Key liaison person with external auditor, Group Financial Control ("GFC") and manage the annual statutory audit process, SOx audit and any other statutory-driven review, as and when required.


Finance Modernization & Others
  • Participate in projects and initiatives in relation to financial close process, new system, system enhancement, reporting and regulatory requirements as required in the capacity as Business owner for financial reporting.
  • Ensure standardization, automation of reporting processes, optimization of controls by leveraging on tools, technology solutions for financial reporting.
  • Ensure Process and Controls ("P&C") documentation and Standard Operating Procedures ("SOP") for finance and accounting processes and workflows are in place, SOx-compliant and reviewed on an annual basis.
  • Ensure audit schedules are complete & accurate (with supporting documents) and provided to auditors on a timely basis.
  • Support Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") and FC on people development and succession planning for Finance & Accounting teams.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Finance related discipline (Finance/Accounting, Economics, Mathematics/ Statistics, Actuarial Science with Professional qualification (ACA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • At least 12 years related working experience in financial reporting, .
  • Ability to work with diverse personalities, cultures and business practices inherent to an international organization.
  • Understanding of IFRS and IAS principles are required.
  • Able to lead and motivate and high-performing team.
  • Preferably candidate from life insurance industry and/ or audit background.
