Ansell is looking for a Procurement Engineer to join our team in Melaka.
In this position, you will play a vital role in sourcing and selecting vendors, negotiating and planning delivery of all non-stock & stock items, including general and engineering supplies, tools, industrial machinery, and other equipment to meet user requirements while ensuring compliance with quality and safety policies.

What your role will be?
Collaborating with our cross-functional teams and reporting to the Sr Specialist, Supply Chain, you will have the opportunity to:
- Implement and drive procurement strategies to meet quality and cost targets.
- Manage suppliers to meet objectives related to cost, delivery performance, schedule, and quality.
- Perform regular performance reviews with suppliers to drive continuous improvements.
- Define and maintain documented supplier strategies using market and competitive data.
- Coordinate with Store Personnel to plan for spare part re-orders with maximum efficiency, such as just-in-time delivery and safety stock practices.
- Coordinate activities related to engineering works, maintain the history of the plant machinery, including maintenance, changing or replacing spare parts, and modification of specifications of all machines.
- Manage supplier relations and supplier agreement compliance while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct and purchasing policy.
- Evaluate Suppliers/Contractors with Engineering to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and service.
- Establish lead times for all requisitions and develop schedules for management control.
- Ensure that the workplace is safe and without risk to health or the environment by conducting regular audits, inspections, and training.
- Inform the superior of major changes for effective decision-making and discharge of functions.
What will you bring to Ansell?
- Bachelor’s degree in any field, preferably in industrial engineering.
- Experience in engineering procurement at a supervisory level.
- Knowledge of industrial sources, GMP, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and ISO 14001 requirements is an advantage.
- Computer literate with a good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team, with guidance only in the most complex situations.
- Ability to communicate effectively cross-functionally with all levels.
