Vice President - Reinsurance Accounting (Treaty)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of all Treaty related Financial Accounting.
  • Responsible for improving the company cash flow position and work with Reinsurer and RI Brokers to drive efficiency in turnaround time for collection.
  • Manage collection of claims recovery from treaty reinsurers on a timely basis to ensure collection received timeline.
  • Prepare monthly Treaty Closing Reporting (eg. Treaty aging, ceded premium, RI Comm and Claims Recovery split by reinsurers)
  • Prepare Monthly and Quarterly Technical Statement of Accounts (SOA) to brokers / reinsurers.
  • Review and enhance of system and business process to ensure the most effective and efficient delivery of reinsurance reports.
  • Perform data extraction, analyze data in order to develop new system to enhance current reporting.
  • Continuous review of all finance policies and internal control procedures to identify any changes to the finance processes for better work efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Promote training and development opportunities to keep team members interested and motivated.
  • Identify training and development needs of team members to raise standards and performance.
  • Reinforce learning from management training or other forms of development, by integrating them into an employee's working life and promoting a positive approach to these types of activities.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred. A professional qualification such as CFA / ACCA / CIMA / CPA / ACA / ICAEW will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 7 years Treaty accounts experiences in the industry
  • Knowledge of Treaty Technical Accounting, familiar with Reinsurance regulatory reporting framework
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills with attention to detail
