About the role:

A multinational company which is the World Leader in Small Domestic Appliances.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to Financial Controller, as the Accounting Manager, the incumbent is responsible for:
  • Daily Finance Operations
    • Train staff and monitor their performance to ensure smooth execution of all accounting activities and day to day finance function.
    • Review staff work to ensure the accuracy of accounting data input in SAP
    • Ensure payment verification is conducted in compliance with company policy and approved prior to payment
  • Monthly Closing and Reporting
    • Ensure monthly closing is done properly and timely and provides leadership guidance on Month End close process and support team on monthly financial reporting
    • Complete monthly financial closing with effective analysis around OPEX variances, risks and opportunities.
    • Maintain the general ledger and all related accounts including preparation of journal entries with proper documentation and records of all the company transactions, reviews, entries to the general ledger.
    • Submit all monthly reporting to Groupe via GPS or any other accounting tool.
    • Maintaining of computerized accounting system, back up control, assisting other accounting staff with computer generated reports and statements.
    • Review monthly bank reconciliation for all accounts, verify accuracy of bank statements and maintain integrity of cash balances and cash flow systems.
    • Review details of balance sheet on monthly basis and provide effective analysis around risk, opportunities and remediation action plan if required.
  • Compliance and External Liaison
    • Liaise with internal and external auditors with regards to compliance with group and regulatory policies and procedures.
    • Yearly Corporate Tax estimates and submission
    • Responsible for Company's relevant tax compliance i.e. withholding tax, Transfer Pricing, etc.
    • Develop & maintain good professional relationship with internal and external stakeholders i.e. auditor, tax agent, company secretary, consultants, lawyers, bankers, insurance, suppliers, related business associates and other government authorities and agencies.
  • Operating Processes and Internal Control
    • Continuous improvement on accounting system and advises on system integration issues relating to finance and/ or internal control.
    • Collaborate with Groupe team to troubleshoot SAP system issues and coordinate any new requirements for the SAP GL accounts and cost centre and controls all changes to chart of accounts.
    • Assist in setting up of internal control for project and Finance and Accounting System
    • Direct, coordinate and set up all aspects of the financial and accounting function to ensure compliance with local accounting standards and Groupe SEB Policies and Procedures and drive improvement in the financial policies, procedures, reporting and internal control system through sound knowledge in processes and information technology to support business growth
    • Improve internal control and ensuring control systems are followed and functioning effectively.
    • Safeguard company assets
    • Provide training on the Policies and Procedures and implement systematic work flow for the department
  • Adhoc Projects
    • Drives implementation of financial reporting tool and actively participate in the implementation of other operation tools which may have financial implication
    • Perform any other duties and assignment that may be assigned from to time
Requirements:
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance or Professional Qualification in Accounting i.e. ACCA, CPA, CIMA etc.
    • At least 8 years of working experience in accounting and financial experience in retail/FMCG environment with a multinational company or a minimum of 3 years in management. Preferably with audit experience in the Big 4 Accounting firms.
  • Strength

    • Strong analytical with good business acumen and ability to identify key business drivers
    • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication in English and able to build strong relationships
    • Proficiency in MS Office & SAP
  • Character
    • Ability to think creatively, proactive in initiating improvement and problem solving, highly-driven and self-motivated
    • Organised, result oriented and able to deliver on deadline with excellent time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
