Role Summary
As the Head of Operations at Beam Mobility Malaysia, you will lead daily operations and drive key initiatives aligned with the country's strategy. Reporting directly to the Country GM, you'll ensure our efforts are always in sync with broader goals. This role demands a self-starter with extensive experience in scaling business operations and a proven ability to strategize and execute with a team.

It is a role that requires a keen eye for detail in our operations while maintaining a big-picture view of how initiatives fit within the overall strategy. Analytical, collaborative, and a strong leader, you will be part of the efforts to drive business impact in Malaysia's dynamic micromobility sector with Beam.

Responsibilities

  1. Keep a tight lid on the operations of Beam MY, and have a finger on the pulse of the many different moving parts of the operations in Beam MY.
  2. Query relevant data via SQL, accurately and quickly, for business analysis purposes.
  3. Analyze operational metrics, business P&L, and review trends against MY's Ops Strategy - to formulate relevant problem statements, appropriate solutions, and drive execution with the operations team in an organized manner.
  4. Manage the day-to-day operations of MY ensuring operational excellence.
  5. Optimize and engineer processes relevant to driving efficiency & effectiveness.
  6. Manage and lead the core operations team in driving strategic initiatives.
  7. Drive the execution of identified initiatives together with the team.
  8. Oversee core & wider ground operations team; ensuring excellence in efficiency & effectiveness across the entire operational chain.
  9. Maintain tight alignment between operations and the wider country strategy as set by the Country GM.
  10. Move cohesively with the country management in an agile manner, as required by the nature of the industry.
  11. Inculcate the highest standards of professionalism, team cohesion, and high-impact culture within the operations team.

Minimum Requirements

  1. At least 5 years of experience in managing business operations and a business' P&L, within the tech industry.
  2. High competency in SQL is a must. Highly inquisitive and competent in analyzing Business Performance metrics; identifying trends, defining an appropriate problem statement, and delivering effective/efficient solutions accordingly.
  3. Demonstrates strategic & critical thinking skills in problem solving and executing initiatives.
  4. Experience in managing a team, and demonstrating competent leadership qualities.
  5. Experience in working with Country Managers / GMs is ideal.
  6. Excellent communication skills (spoken and written), including the ability to convey complex concepts both verbally and in writing in a clear, concise manner.
  7. Ability to organize, plan and implement strategic operational initiatives, manage competing demands and work under the pressure of frequent and tight deadlines.
  8. Executional skills are important.
  9. Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, manage stress effectively, and adapt to handle the ambiguity of the operational environment.
  10. Is a go-getter, highly passionate, and collaboratively independent. Holds him/herself to the highest of standards.
