Event Coordinator

Malaysia

We are looking for an experienced Event Coordinator to organize excellent events, both in person and virtually. You will be responsible for every aspect of an event, from planning the campaign to choosing venues to evaluating success afterwards.

An event coordinator must be well organized and competent in vendor management. Communication skills and attention to detail will set them apart the best among the candidates. Add a shot of enthusiasm and passion for the job, and you’ll be our ideal candidate.

You will organise physical events in Malaysia along with virtual events (webinars) for several countries.

The goal is to organize events that will ensure the participants gain value while also achieving successful business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsive to the requests within the business

  • Understand requirements for each event

  • Plan event with attention to financial and time constraints

  • Book venues and coordinate with speakers

  • Research vendors (catering, spaces, seating plans, etc.) and choose the best combination of quality and cost

  • Negotiate with vendors to achieve the most favourable terms

  • Manage all event operations (preparing venue, invitations, etc.)

  • Do final checks at the day of the event (e.g. location, technology) to ensure everything meets standards

  • Oversee event happenings and act quickly to resolve problems

  • Evaluate event’s success and submit reports


Requirements

  • Proven experience as event coordinator

  • Minimum 2 years experience in marketing and sales department with basic understanding of B2B sales

  • Excellent vendor management skills

  • Outstanding communication skills (English)

  • Strong negotiation ability

  • Well organized with multi-tasking skills

  • Able to handle stress and remain calm

  • Problem-solving ability

  • Be a Team player with a Professional “get it done” attitude and work ethic

  • A degree in hospitality management, public relations or relevant field is preferred

  • Content writer abilities are highly desired

A bonus if you are familiar with SaaS (Software as a service) industry

Requirements
Skills Required: Strong conceptual and planning skills. Team Lead with a total of 3+ years of IT experience. Good communication (verbal and written), time management skills, fast learner, self-motivated, and comfortable taking initiative and handling multiple projects simultaneously. Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development. The person should have worked previously with remote teams. Require Good Technical Knowledge in PHP, AWS, Frameworks, Mobile Apps, and Web Architectures. Team leadership ability, cooperative and flexible. Good problem-solving abilities with the ability to identify and contribute to solutions for the company in a collaborative environment.
