Koperasi mula ditubuhkan pada tahun 1949 dan didaftarkan mengikut Seksyen Ordinan Koperasi-Koperasi Bilangan 33 tahun 1948, dengan nama Sharikat Guru-Guru Melayu Pahang Timor Bekerjasama Jimat Chermat dan Pinjaman Wang dengan Tanggongan Berhad. Kemudiannya ditukar nama kepada Syarikat Bekerjasama Guru-Guru Melayu Pahang Timur, kemudian koperasi sekali lagi bertukar nama kepada Koperasi Guru Melayu Pahang Timur Berhad (KGMPTB). Nama ini diluluskan oleh Mesyuarat Agung pada 24 September 1988 dan didaftarkan di bawah Seksyen Akta Koperasi 1948. Pada 24 Januari 1996, selepas 5 tahun beroperasi, koperasi sekali lagi bertukar nama kepada Koperasi Perkhidmatan Pendidikan Melayu Pahang Timur Berhad (KPPMPTB) melalui pindaan Undang-Undang Kecil pada 25 Mei 1949, yang didaftarkan di bawah subseksyen Akta Koperasi 1993. Pada peringkat permulaan, Koperasi Perkhidmatan Pendidikan Melayu Pahang Timur Berhad beroperasi di No. 76 Jalan Bukit Ubi, Kuantan. Selepas itu, bertukar di No. 79, Jalan Dato 'Wong Ah Jang pada 2005 dan berpindah di B-2 Tingkat 1, Jalan Darat Makbar, Kuantan sehingga kini. Kawasan bagi koperasi beroperasi ialah sekitar daerah Kuantan, Pekan, Rompin, Maran and Muadzam Shah. Selain itu, koperasi mempunyai anggota sehingga 31 Disember 2020 keanggotaan koperasi berjumlah 10,085 orang.
