Clinical Dietitian

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- To monitor, assess, and optimize nutrition status based on the patient's current medical condition and/ or nutrition adequacy.
- Carry out dietary consultation to referred in-patients and out-patients so patients will be able to make nutritionally healthy food choice for the recovery process, prevent disease and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
- Confer with physicians and other healthcare professionals e.g pharmacist, physiotherapists and nurses to
- Make recommendations for tube and intravenous feedings and/or dietary supplements.
- Manage and run inventory for nutritional product
Eg:
diabetes nutrition milk, kangaroo pump.
- Prepare and update education materials to be given to patients during consultation such as leaflet, pamphlet or brochure.
- Educate other healthcare professional such as the clinical nurses and hospital staff on Medical Nutrition Therapy and Diet Manual to ensure proper therapeutic diet is given to inpatients.
- Liase with subsidiary department to monitor and inspect hospital food service for conformance to prescribed diets and standard of palatability and appearance.
- Promote dietary service to public to create dietary service demand by joining marketing event, make appearance in mass media, and submitted article to magazine or newsletter.
- Keep knowledge, skills and abilities update by joining dietary conference or seminar.
Salary:
RM2, RM4,000.00 per month
