JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. To monitor, assess, and optimize nutrition status based on the patient's current medical condition and/ or nutrition adequacy.

2. Carry out dietary consultation to referred in-patients and out-patients so patients will be able to make nutritionally healthy food choice for the recovery process, prevent disease and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

3. Confer with physicians and other healthcare professionals e.g pharmacist, physiotherapists and nurses to
coordinate medical and nutritional needs.
4. Make recommendations for tube and intravenous feedings and/or dietary supplements.
5. Manage and run inventory for nutritional product. E.g: diabetes nutrition milk, kangaroo pump.
6. Prepare and update education materials to be given to patients during consultation such as leaflet, pamphlet or brochure.
7. Educate other healthcare professional such as the clinical nurses and hospital staff on Medical Nutrition Therapy and Diet Manual to ensure proper therapeutic diet is given to inpatients.
8. Liase with subsidiary department to monitor and inspect hospital food service for conformance to prescribed diets and standard of palatability and appearance.
9. Promote dietary service to public to create dietary service demand by joining marketing event, make appearance in mass media, and submitted article to magazine or newsletter.
10. Keep knowledge, skills and abilities update by joining dietary conference or seminar.

**Salary**: RM2,500.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
