Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Conduct functional, performance, and security testing to identify defects, performance bottlenecks, and vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, including software developers, business analysts, and project managers, to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
  • Analyze and interpret test results, providing meaningful insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Identify and report software defects, tracking them to resolution and ensuring appropriate documentation.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for software defects and performance issues, working closely with development teams to facilitate timely resolutions.
  • Provide expert guidance and consultation on quality assurance best practices, standards, and methodologies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to payment software quality and compliance.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and participate in team knowledgesharing activities.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to address their payment software quality concerns and provide technical guidance.

In practice this means:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimal of 4 years proven experience as a Quality Consultant or Quality Assurance Engineer in the payment software domain.
  • Strong knowledge of payment systems, payment processing, and associated technologies (e.g., EMV, ISO 8583, tokenization, issuing, acquiring).
  • Indepth understanding of quality assurance principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience in creating and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Familiarity with payment industry regulations and compliance standards (e.g., PCI-DSS).
  • Proficient in using testing tools, test management systems, and defect tracking tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problemsolving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams and clients.
  • Detailoriented with a commitment to delivering highquality results.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fastpaced environment.
  • Relevant certifications in quality assurance or software testing (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.
