About the Role


Supporting of cloud environments such as Azure (primary location) and AWS, while working with changing priorities from the team and other teams within Group Technology.

The overarching objective of the Assistant Manager, Cloud Services is to assist the wider team of the operational performance of AIA's Group shared Public Cloud services.

The role will ensure the smooth operation of the Public Cloud services by responding to business unit requests.


The role will also work closely with the Cloud Engineer, Automation to identify new use cases for automation from frequent business unit provisioning or support requests.


Supporting of cloud environments such as Azure (primary location) and AWS, while working with changing priorities from the team and other teams within Group Technology.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in the support of the AIA multi-cloud environment (predominantly Azure but with an AliCloud and AWS footprint)
  • Liaise with service providers to ensure that operational processes (backup, patching, provisioning, monitoring) for service followup and incident management
  • Improve operational efficiency via usecase definition with the Automation Engineer
  • Support Group Technical Risk to ensure compliance to all security requirements and standards
  • Support of nonstandard cloud services that might not be covered in AIA service provider contracts

Experience:

  • 5+ years relevant experience in Cloud Engineering / Support role
  • Excellent understanding and proven experience in Public Cloud implementation, workload migration and operational support in a multisite enterprise environment
  • Proven experience plus relevant professional certifications (Azure, AWS etc)
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerShell
  • Handson experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Understanding of Infrastructure-AsCode configuration management tooling (at least one of the following
  • Terraform, Ansible, Saltstack, Chef/Puppet)
  • Ability to define usecases for automation and service improvement
  • Practical experience of supporting Enterprise Public Cloud Services and automation
  • Life insurance experience within a regional or multinational scope will be an advantage
  • Experience within a decentralized organization, preferably within the Group unit
  • Sound understanding of IT operating model design and best practices
