The Job:

  • Legal Operations Management:
    • Oversee day-to-day legal operations for the Pixlr Group globally.
    • Negotiate, draft, manage, and analyze a diverse array of agreements (e.g., confidentiality, software development, enterprise and sales, partnerships, data and privacy, outsourcing, and engagement agreements) across local and international jurisdictions.
    • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external parties on agreements.
  • Corporate Transactions:
    • Handle transactions related to fund-raising, takeovers, mergers and acquisitions (M&As), and other corporate exercises.
    • Advise and work closely with Senior Management on commercial, ethical, and legal matters arising from business activities and potential projects.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Provide general advice on regulatory issues and assist in maintaining compliance within the business.
    • Work closely with the in-house company secretary when needed.
  • External Counsel Management:
    • Manage and collaborate with external counsel and advisors to ensure cost-effective representation of the Group's legal interests.
  • Intellectual Property Management:
    • Manage the intellectual property portfolio of the Group and advise on copyright matters.
  • Internal Training:
    • Conduct internal training sessions for various stakeholders within the Group to provide updates on compliance and legal matters.
  • Task Management:
    • Handle multiple legal matters concurrently, demonstrating the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support the legal and business objectives of the Group.

The Person:

  • Educational Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Law and/or relevant professional qualifications.
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years post-qualification as an advocate and solicitor, with leadership experience in an in-house department or law firm. Global and cross-border experience preferred.
  • Professional Admission: Admitted to practice in Malaysia or any common law jurisdiction.
  • Industry Experience: Experience with SaaS, Cloud, Technology, IT projects, and infrastructure firms.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and Mandarin (both written and spoken).
  • Skills and Attributes:
    • Strong self-starter, capable of working with all management levels and internal stakeholders.
    • High ethical standards and a commitment to responsibility.
    • Excellent analytical skills and persuasive communication abilities.
    • Collaborative team player with the ability to achieve organizational goals.
    • Expertise in risk assessment, decision-making, and prioritizing the Group's best interests.
    • Proficient in drafting legal documents and strong negotiation skills.
    • Exceptional interpersonal abilities and adaptability to changing environments.
    • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
    • Effective time management and ability to meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
