About the Role:

Ensure the timeliness of month end closing and handle financial reporting to management in US. Financial reporting includes financial analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, cash flow management, budgeting and forecasting. You will report to Manager - Corporate Accounting

You Will:

  • Manage the monthly/quarterly/yearend closing and reporting. Ensure the GL Ledger is closed on time and provide financial analysis on the variance comparing actual vs budget.
  • Responsible for complex general ledger journal entries and account reconciliation.
  • Review account reconciliation prepared by the team and ensured that all reconciliations are completed by set timeline.
  • Monitor revenue recognition for international activity and reporting sales activity for the payment of commissions to authors.
  • Record revenue from thirdparty sales partners, monitor and process commissions to sales partners.
  • Reconcile and confirm for complex intercompany transactions.
  • Upon receiving level 1 escalation request on operational issues, provide appropriate direction and advice to direct reports in resolving the issues or handle the case in person if necessary.
  • Manage all open items related to month end closing and account reconciliation
  • Liaison with auditors, tax agents, bankers and other regulatory authority bodies.
  • Complete monthly subscription autotermination process and verify the process complete without exception.
  • Conduct subscriptions fulfillment testing, including assessing discrepancies, engaging with team members.
  • Manage the state society relationships, including monthly reporting and accurate disbursement of payments.
  • Provide financial expertise, insights and recommendation on financial matters for decisionmaking.
  • Ensure strict compliance with accounting standards, statutory law and continuous improvement on all financial aspects.
  • Assist R2R Manager in supervising transition activities with the Project Team as Subject Matter Expert in R2R activities.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related field, or a partial professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA/CPA/MIA).
  • Experience in General Ledger operations.
  • Experience in GBS or SSC environment will be an added advantage.
  • Experience using an ERP system.
  • Audit experience of IFRS or US GAAP will be an added advantage.
