We have an immediate requirement for a Brewing Supervisor based in Lae, reporting to the Brewing Manager.
Main Duties will include:
- Request for the required raw materials to be used for the week.
- Ensure utilities are available in required quantity and quality.
- Ensure manpower and machinery is available and in operating condition.
- Ensure bright beers are available for packaging, in the specified quantity and quality according to the production plan.
- Ensure weekly targets are met and explain any variances
- Planning and assigning the first line maintenance, cleaning and quality control tasks effectively to each team member for each section.
- Collect equipment information, analyze and issue work order request form to engineering department according to priorities, followup on execution of task and provide feedback.
- Check and supervise the operation of equipment according to technical instruction, to ensure it is functioning without abnormalities.
- Supervise engineering support shift technicians to ensure machine abnormalities/break downs are attended to swiftly and effectively to minimize down time.
- Suggest processes modifications and or procedures revisions required for easier operation or to improve capacity & reduce wastage.
- Check the quality of raw material and feedback any problem/defects to QC department, register these and follow up to ensure problem is resolved.
- Check preventive maintenance program for each machine in brewing department.
- Carry out QC/QA analysis and provide conclusive results back to concerned section.
- Adjust process parameters according to QC analysis results to achieve specifications.
- To ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP and ISO procedures and principles.
- Be able to produce periodical and daily cellars stock reports as required by the management or the systems.
- To advise the Brewing Manager in all aspects relating to brewing equipment and machinery.
- Provide accurate accounts of processes and conditions, wastage and manpower utilization including housekeeping & safety during each shift.
- Assist in identifying training needs, planning, developing, organizing and delivering onjobtraining to staff to improve competency levels targeting a multiskilled & multitasked work force.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor degree in Engineering or Science
- Knowledge of Brewing Technology
- Management & Quality systems (TQM, GMP, HACCP, ISO)
- Analytical skills in trouble shooting
- Computing skills (MS Word & Excell)
- Planned/Preventive Maintenance (PM) system.
