In this role, you'll play a crucial part in our mission to extract and refine precious metals, contributing to the success and growth of our organization.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform fire assay tests with precision and expertise to determine the gold content in ore samples and other materials.
  • Execute sample preparation techniques, including crushing, grinding, and homogenization, ensuring accurate and representative samples.
  • Utilize advanced chemical analysis methods, such as cupellation, acid digestion, and spectroscopy, to quantify gold and other elements present in samples.
  • Uphold rigorous quality control standards, guaranteeing the accuracy and reliability of testing procedures and results.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
  • Analyze test results meticulously, recording data accurately, and preparing comprehensive reports for further analysis and decisionmaking.
  • Champion a culture of safety and compliance, adhering to established protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment in the laboratory.
  • Collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams to share insights, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement in our gold testing processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, metallurgy, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on laboratory techniques.
  • Proven experience in fire assay testing, particularly in the context of gold analysis, demonstrating proficiency in cupellation, fusion, and fluxing.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, with a passion for unraveling the complexities of geological samples.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment, including furnaces, spectrometers, and balances, and the ability to operate them effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong problemsolving abilities and a collaborative mindset, with a commitment to achieving team goals and driving continuous improvement.
  • Certifications in laboratory safety or proficiency in relevant testing techniques are highly desirable, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and professionalism.

Experience:

  • Fire assayer: 3 years (preferred)
