JOB SCOPE:Prepares new menu and cooks food according to standard procedures, recipe cards. Assists in training associates, participates in product development and in controlling the smooth operation of the kitchen. Prepares and cooks food in all areas of the kitchen as and when directed. Participates in the control and development of associates, responsible in the control of food quality, taste, presentation, and food requisition. Oversees the daily operations of restaurant.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Developing unique and cuisine appropriate menus
  • Staying Current on developing trends in the restaurant industry
  • Maintaining the kitchen and surrounding areas in conditions that meet the company standards.
  • Monitoring inventory and purchasing supplies and food from approved vendors
  • Estimate staff's workload and compensations
  • Hiring, training and supervising kitchen staff
  • Identifying and introducing new culinary techniques
  • To ensure that the guest is satisfied.
  • Approving and "polishing" dishes before they reach the customer
  • Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between coworkers

Key Competencies

  • Have a good knowledge of Western cuisine to carry out the duties and responsibilities for the position in an efficient and productive manner.
  • Be able to supervise and manage a shift
  • Be able to supervise subordinate associates.
  • Be willing and able to train and motivate staff
  • Must possess the necessary skills to be able to work hands on, and provide on the job training to associates to meet the set standards
  • Leadership and training skills
  • Good communications skills

From RM8,000.00 per month
