Key Responsibilities:

1.

Department Management:

  • Deliver lactation counseling services to unit personnel to promote breastfeeding.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative.
  • Advocate for policies that protect, promote, and support breastfeeding.
  • Maintain lactation service standards and support roomingin practices.

2.

Patient Care:

  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide quality care and support to mothers and babies.
  • Assess, intervene, and plan lactation services for customers hospitalwide.
  • Provide continuous education on breastfeeding initiation and management.
  • Collect, analyze, and present performance indicators related to breastfeeding services.

3.

Customer Satisfaction:

  • Promptly address breastfeeding issues and provide emotional support to parents.
  • Encourage parental involvement in breastfeeding decisions.
  • Utilize problemsolving approaches sensitive to cultural considerations.
  • Provide guidance on pharmaceutical effects on lactation and dietary selection.

4.

Staff Supervision:

  • Develop and deliver training programs for maternal and child unit staff.
  • Ensure staff certifications and competencies in lactation counseling.
  • Assist with new staff orientation and provide ongoing coaching and support.
  • Facilitate lactation support groups and manage related inquiries effectively.

5.

Additional Duties:

  • Plan and organize breastfeedingrelated activities within the hospital.
  • Participate in public forums and road shows to promote maternal and infant services.
  • Actively engage in learning and development initiatives identified by the company.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Diploma in Nursing or Degree in Nursing with Advance Diploma or Post Basic Certificate
  • Valid Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Registered with Malaysian Nursing Board
  • State Certified Midwife ( Division 1 ) is an advantage
  • 3 years and above of clinical/ nursing experience in related fields
  • Supervisory experience is an added advantage
  • 20 hours Breast feeding course
  • Advance Lactation Certification is an advantage
  • Good listeners
  • Effective with verbal and written communications
  • Patience, emotional stability and empathy

Pay:
RM4, RM6,000.00 per month
